Below are the individual steps for drawing salmon- you can finish the task in each step and create a complete salmon. At the end of the post is a video tutorial you can refer to it to complete your work most easily. Now, let’s get started drawing a salmon with us!
Step 1 – Draw Salmon’s Eyes
You start drawing a salmon with an eye with a dot. Salmon has 2 eyes, but here we are drawing italics so we can only see one eye, so you only need to draw one eye to show it. You can use black to color the eye and move to step 2.
Step 2 – Draw Salmon’s Head Outline
You use some curved lines to draw the lips of the salmon at the very top of it. Very simple for you in this step; you just draw the salmon’s head outline. You can also add a small black dot at the head for salmon. Now, you continue to draw your salmon in the third step.
Step 3 – Draw Salmon’s Body Outline
We will be outlining a part of the body of the fish. You know that the fish’s body will get thinner the lower down it you get, and it will also curve sharply to the left, as shown in the reference image. You can add one fin on the back, like in our picture. Once this body outline is drawn, we will be ready for step 4 of the guide!
Step 4 – Finish Salmon’s Body
You draw the outlines that can be drawn with longer curved lines coming down from the top of the fish where you drew the lips. You also finish the head for your salmon with the salmon gills. Please add a find at the belly as our image. You move to step 5.
Step 5 – Finish the Salmon’s Tailfin
Here, you must show the salmon’s tailfin. At the end of the body, you will outline the tailfin. Then Draw two diagonal lines going away from the body and a curved line to connect them together. Your salmon is now done! None of these elements will be particularly detailed right now, but we will add some more in the next few steps!
Step 6 – Add The Final Details To Salmon
We will add the final details and touches in this sixth step of our guide on how to draw a salmon. This step will focus mainly on adding some texture details to the salmon’s body, fins, and tail. First, draw straight lines onto each fin on the fish. After that, we use the same straight lines on other fins and tails for salmon. Isn’t it amazing that you’ve completed the basics of creating a salmon? You have more than the last step for coloring.
Step 7 – Coloring Salmon
This is the final step of this salmon drawing, and in it, we shall finish off with some colors. In our reference image, we went with some light blues and green alternating along the body.
